Earth day is not so known in Finland. I heard it the first time few years ago. I have never considered myself as an "environment person". But I have noticed a change in my behavior in the last 5 years. I recycle and use organic products. I reuse packaging materials and give away old stuff for charity. Last year when I needed to buy a car, I chose a hybrid version of Toyota Auris.
So nowadays I think more and more our environment when I make my decisions, but why did I start to care? There are many things, but the first was my trips to Kenya. When driving alone in a vast, wild nature with too many things around that could kill you - respect is born. Second big thing was the documentary An Inconvenient Truth.
After seeing what is it like in Africa and reading what the future holds for us, I thought that if I could do something about it, I'd try to do it. So I made it a mission - to show our most beautiful nature and wildest animals to as many people as possible. And if I could make even one of them realise our environment the way I did, my job is done here. We all know what to do here, so let's make this a better home for everyone. Ok?
