In Giraffe Center Nairobi you can feed the 5 meter giants! |
One week left. The starts my biggest and most ambitious adventure to date. Because there were not enough clients for the trip I decided to use this chance to scout some new parks and have a little vacation with my girlfriend. First week I'm gonna go alone(with Mike of course) and see 4 different parks in the east-south side from Nairobi. Both Tsavos(east and west), not so well known Chyulu Hills and the famous Amboseli. Then we come back to Nairobi to pick up my girlfriend and head to the north. First stop is a park that I have seen on the maps many times and drove around it, but never visited: Aberdare. It should be some kind of a hideout and not so crowded(tourists) like Nakuru of Masai Mara. I'm really looking for to the waterfalls, mountains and forests. In 2 days I should get the shots I need. Then we go to Lake Nakuru to see if the water level is low enough to drive on the lake shores. Last year it was too high and most of the flamingos had fly elsewhere. Perhaps some slomo shots of birds landing and taking off from the lake...? :D If we have time, we'll stop in Hell's Gate for one night on our way to Masai Mara. After 3 night in Mara we go back to Nairobi and spend a night at Mike's place. My girlfriend is crazy for baby elephants and giraffes so the last day we'll visit the David Sheldrick orphanage and the Giraffe Center.
This trip is going to be the extreme-real-life-fieldtest for my Sony NEX FS700 and other gear. Next week I'm gonna post a complete walkthrough to my gear and cases for the trip, but for now, over and out.
